HDPE pipe provides you a great advantage in terms of its wide usage area and benefits. HDPE pipe, which means high density polyethylene, are pipes produced with PE100 raw material, which can be melted with high heat and has high resistance. Using HDPE pipes in your projects gives you a great advantage. In general, the advantages are listed:

  • It is a hard, light and durable pipe with a smooth inner and outer surface.
  • It is very easy to carry and use.
  • It is easily applied even in adverse field conditions such as wet areas, swampy areas.
  • Welding and joining methods are quite simple.
  • Resistant to chemicals. It is resistant to fluids such as waste water and salt water.
  • It is strong against impacts.
  • It is not easily affected by adverse weather conditions. For this reason, it is advantageous to prefer it in cold air installations as well.
  • It provides savings in installation costs.

Where is HDPE Pipe Used?

Due to its high quality and durability, it is used in many projects. Such as:

  • Water networks
  • Gas networks
  • Mining
  • Gas collection lines
  • Solid waste storage areas
  • Drainage systems;

HDPE pipes are preferred in many areas.

How to Join HDPE Pipes?

Some welding methods have been developed to join these pipes. With these welding methods, pipes are joined with pipe fittings and with each other by melting. Today, two methods are generally preferred for the welding process. These are electrofusion welding and butt welding.

Electrofusion Welding Method

In this method, welding is carried out by means of the resistances located inside the electrofusion pipe fittings. Pipes are inserted into the EF pipe fittings and the ends of the welding machine are connected to the sockets. It is then heated by electric current. Pipe joining process takes place with the pressure formed by heat.

Butt Welding Method

It is another commonly used method. It is applied by means of a butt welding machine. It is realized by shaving the ends of the pipes to be joined and pushing both ends to each other at a certain temperature and a certain pressure.
